Department of Ecology
We are looking for a person who would find it inspiring and challenging to work with coorperation and dialogue between society and the university and wishes to contribute to sustainable agricultural production. We announce a position as senior lecturer within the area of plant protection at the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences, Department of Ecology, located in Uppsala.
The department is situated at the attractive Ecology Center where we carry out internationally acknowledged research, environmental assessment, and education aiming towards sustainable management of our natural resources, based on ecological know-how. Knowledge emanating from the Ecological Center is applied within agriculture and forestry as well as conservation. Changes in climatic conditions and land use call increasing for ecological expertise. At the Department of Ecology it is our ambition to be at the forefront of theory-based, applied ecological research.
Subject area:
The subject includes plant protection against arthropod pests with emphasis on integrated pest management in agriculture.
Duties:
The task of the senior lecturer in this field will be to lead and develop extension and collaboration with the surrounding community, conduct research and is expected to apply for external research-funding. Teaching can be included in the duties. The position involves contact and networking with business, authorities, scientific community and other stakeholders in Sweden and abroad.

Assessment criteria:
Very great importance will be attached in the selection process to extension skills and scientific skill. Great importance will also be attached to pedagogical skill.
In addition, importance will be attached to administrative skills of relevance to the subject content and duties of the post, as well as skill in developing and leading operations and staff at the university.
In assessing extension skills, importance will be attached to documented experience of the following three extension areas, primarily with regard to extension of particular importance to the field:

The scientific, pedagogical and extension documents that the applicant wishes to cite should be specified in the application. One copy of each document should be submitted to the Registrar.
A maximum of ten scientific works and ten pedagogical works, together with the requisite number of relevant extension documents, may be submitted. A complete list of publications, with the cited works marked, must also be submitted. When the two experts have been appointed as notified by the administrator dealing with the application, one copy of the works cited should be provided to each of the experts.
